If you have a CD burner in your PC, follow the instructions on this page
 to create a CD that can be used to update your TOTAL RECALL 
Voice Logger to Software Version 2.50 Build 2.

You should also read V2.50 Release Notes and User's
Manual (available either ON-LINE, or as a PDF FILE ).

1.  Create a CD containing  a  folder labeled INSTALL.
   
                                            
  

Download the install zip file (link above) from Omnicron Electronics web site:

You will require a CDROM writer to make a Total Recall install CD to perform an upgrade.

After downloading the Install zip file, Using WinZip right click on the file and select " Extract To" and extract the files into the INSTALL folder on CD you created in step # 1 above.

Note: When the files are copied to the CD they will be in a directory called INSTALL as below.

Finalize the CD for use in standard PC as a normal disk. Use this CD to update your Total Recall as follows:

 Software Upgrade Procedure:

1:   Start Total Recall so that it is running normally.

2:   Load the V2.XX Software Upgrade CD (created above) into the Total Recall CD drive.

3:   Press MENU key and go to the OPTIONS MENU (use Administrator password).

4:   Select SYSTEM MAINTENANCE.

                                                      UPGRADE

5:   Upgrade Software

                                          "Installing CD – Please wait"

                                          "Copying  files"

6:   LCD screen message "Install Total Recall V2.XXS+"

                                          Select  "UPGRADE NOW"

Important Question.......  "Yes"

                                          Confirm......  "UPGRADE NOW"

Check Version

                                          Upgrade System

Exit     (Will shutdown system. Power Off and back On again after 10 seconds.)

 7:  Restart TR eject CD and operate as normal.

Condensed Instructions for loading software V2.50 to Total Recall
  
Insert the upgrade CD (created above) into the CD drive on your Total Recall recorder, enter Administrator Password, go to Options Menu, select System Upgrade, follow screen prompts.

Alternate methods to update your Total Recall to current software include contacting your Omnicron representative to order a CD that will update your Total Recall and purchasing a new hard drive pre-loaded with operating system software. Replacing the hard drive may be recommended if your recorder has been in constant use for over two years (preventative maintenance — all hard drives will eventually fail).
