If you have a CD burner, follow the instructions on this page
 to create a CD that can be used to update your TOTAL RECALL 
Voice Logger to Software Version 2.21 Build 3.

You should also read V2.21 Release Notes and User's
Manual (available either ON-LINE, or as a PDF FILE ).

1.  Create a CD containing  a  folder labeled INSTALL.
   
                                            
  
2.   Download and save tr_v2-21b3-install.zip (3111k) file to your PC.
   
3.   Unzip and copy the contents of tr_v2-21b3-install.zip (downloaded
       from this link - or above link) into the INSTALL folder on the CD  
       you created in step # 1.

   
                                           
   
4.   Finalize the CD for use in standard PC as a normal disk.
   
5.   Use this CD to update your TOTAL RECALL as follows:

Installation Notes:
  
The install program has several layers of warnings. These include:

a.  'I really suggest you backup calls first' style message.
  
b.  If the bios settings will be changed, it is followed by a 'I REALLY REALLY
     suggest you backup the calls first ' style message.
  
c.  If there are calls on the system, it will then ask if the user wants to delete
     the calls or keep the calls. The user has to confirm to erase the calls.
  
Software Upgrade Procedure, from V2.00 or 2.11 to V2.21:
  
1.  Boot up Total Recall so that it is running normally.
  
2.  Load the Upgrade Software disk into the CD drive on Total Recall.
     This is the CD created above or received as part of a Total Recall upgrade kit.
  
3.  Enter password and press SELECT
  
4.  Press MENU key to skip to the OPTIONS MENU.
  
5.  Select 'SYSTEM MAINTENANCE'.
  
6.  Select 'SYSTEM INFORMATION'
  
7.  Select 'UPGRADE". Wait while CD is installed and files are copied.
  
8.  Select 'UPGRADE NOW' and confirm.
  
9.  Select 'YES' or 'NO" for delete calls (YES for do not delete calls).
  
10.  Select 'UPGRADE NOW'.
  
11.  Select 'CHECK VERSIONS'.
  
12.  Select 'UPGRADE' (Total Recall will Reboot).
  
13.  Wait 10 seconds and power unit OFF, wait 10 seconds and power unit ON.
  
14.  Select 'UPGRADE SYSTEM'.
  
15.  Select 'EXIT'.
  
16.  Wait 10 seconds and power unit OFF, wait 10 seconds and power unit ON.

  
17.  Total Recall will restart and rebuild database.
       After waiting for the database to be rebuilt, continue operation as normal.
   

Instructions for loading software V2.21 if you are upgrading from V1.33:

(If upgrading from V2.00 to V2.11, see below)

NOTE — This is a major upgrade and changes the Total Recall System files and the call record directory. Software V2.00 will restructure the call database on the hard drive into multiple directories. Although this process should not damage call files, we strongly recommend that the call database be archived to CD before V2.00 is installed.

Software Upgrade Procedure:

1.       Boot up Total Recall so that it is running normally.

2.       Load the Upgrade Software disk (created above) in to the CD drive on Total Recall.

3.       Press MENU key to skip to the ARCHIVE MENU.

4.       Select 'SYSTEM MAINTENANCE'.

5.       Select 'UPGRADE SOFTWARE'.

6.       LCD screen message: Loading CD-ROM...
                                       Copying Files...

       7.      Select 'UPGRADE NOW' and continue to press SELECT as requested
                on the LCD screen to confirm upgrade progress and reboot system.
  
      
8.      When complete, the system will indicate that it has shutdown.

9.       Power unit OFF, wait 10 seconds and power unit ON.

       10.     Total Recall will restart. The first screen will indicate the new version of
                 software now loaded.  Select
'CHECK VERSIONS'.

       11.      Select 'UPGRADE SYSTEM', after a few seconds system shutdown.

       12.      Power unit OFF, wait 10 seconds and power unit ON.

       13.      Total Recall will restart and rebuild database. After waiting for the
                  database to be rebuilt, continue operation as normal.  

Instructions for loading software V2.11 if you are upgrading from V2.00:

(see above if upgrading from V1.33)

Software Upgrade Procedure (V2.00 to V2.11):

       1.          Boot up Total Recall so that it is running normally. 

2.          Load the Upgrade Software disk in to the CD drive on Total Recall. 

3.          Press MENU key to go to 'OPTIONS MENU'. 

4.         Select 'SYSTEM MAINTENANCE'. 

5.         Select 'SYSTEM INFORMATION'. 

6.         Select 'UPGRADE'. 

7.         Follow screen prompts.

You can also contact your Omnicron representative to order a CD
that will update your Total Recall Recorder to V2.00.
